About us

The Open Access Office was established at the Vienna University Library in 2013 to support researchers affiliated with the University in all endeavours surrounding Open Access. The University strives to increase visibility for its research and to make its discoveries freely available to scholars, entrepeneurs, and to society at large. We support you in any and all questions you might have as regards content, funding or legal issues surrounding Open Access publication (also in terms of mandated Open Access e.g. as part of FWF or EU projects).

We work closely with our colleagues from other research support services of the Vienna University Library to discuss current developments in the field of Open Access and to estimate their relevance for the University of Vienna (see Forum OA).
