Open Access publishing agreement: Emerald

Authors affiliated with the University of Vienna can publish Open Access without any additional charges in over 300 Emerald journals under a transformative Open Access publishing agreement. Please find the agreement details here:

Articles in subscription journals with Open Access option: Eligible Journals (PDF)

Funding requirements
  • You are "corresponding author" of the article in question.
  • You are affiliated1) with the University of Vienna (checked by the publisher).
  • The following applies to articles resulting from FWF projects: funding can be provided by the University of Vienna (sufficient articles available).
  • The following applies to articles resulting from EU projects: funding can be provided by the University of Vienna (sufficient articles available).
  • The article lists "University of Vienna" as your affiliation or as one of your affiliations.
  • Article types covered: Original Research. Book reviews are always excluded from funding.
Funding is only provided for Open Access, not for any additional fees (e.g. colour charges, submission fees).
Author workflow

Please make sure you submit articles using your institutional e-mail address (@univie.ac.at) so the publisher can recognise you as eligible for funding. Use the following option as part of the publication process: "Yes, I want to publish my article as Open Access and my institution is eligible for a prepaid APC voucher". In addition please add "University of Vienna / Austrian National Consortium (KEMÖ)" to the field "funding source".
