Open Access publishing agreement: Emerald

Authors affiliated with the University of Vienna can publish Open Access without any additional charges in over 300 Emerald journals under an Open Access publishing agreement. Please find the agreement details here:

Funding for

Articles in subscription journals with Open Access option: Eligible Journals (PDF)

Funding requirements
  • The "corresponding author" of the article is affiliated1) with the University of Vienna on the date of acceptance.
  • The "corresponding author" states "University of Vienna" as their affiliation or as one of their affiliations in the article.
  • Article types covered: Original Research. Book reviews are always excluded from funding
  • The following applies to articles resulting from FWF projects: funding can be provided by the University of Vienna (sufficient articles available).
  • The following applies to articles resulting from EU projects: funding can be provided by the University of Vienna (sufficient articles available).
Funding is only provided for Open Access (Article Processing Charges, APCs), not for any additional fees (e.g. colour charges, submission fees).
Invoicing
No invoicing, OA costs fully covered by publishing agreement.
Author workflow

Articles have to be submitted using the institutional e-mail address (@univie.ac.at or @unet.univie.ac.at) so the publisher can recognise eligible authors. The following options have to be chosen during the publication process: "Yes, I want to publish my article as Open Access and my institution is eligible for a prepaid APC voucher". The "funding source" has to be  "University of Vienna / Austrian National Consortium (KEMÖ)".
