17.10.2019

Open Access at no cost for authors of the University of Vienna

The new agreement between Oxford University Press and the University of Vienna includes access to OUP’s entire journals collection for 12 months. It will allow corresponding authors at the University of Vienna to publish articles via Open Access in almost 300 leading journals published by OUP.

Alison Denby, Director of Journals Publishing at OUP, said: "Oxford University Press publishes over 400 high quality journals, many in partnership with major learned societies. This is the fourth transformative deal that OUP has signed in Europe covering both subscription and Open Access payments. I’m really pleased that we’ve been able to reach this agreement and look forward to seeing how researchers at the University of Vienna benefit from this model."

Wolfgang Mayer, Head of the Electronic Resource Management Department at Vienna University Library said: "We are delighted to have concluded this transformative agreement with Oxford University Press, which joins our growing portfolio of open access contracts. With this new agreement we respond to the needs of our researchers and can now offer another important venue for open access publishing while maintaining our access levels. We also look forward to working closely with OUP on optimising the open access publishing workflow and ensuring that all eligible authors are correctly identified."
